The walled olive court

La Corte has its own door onto the walled olive court behind the house — the garden court at the back, not the arcaded cloister at the centre that Il Chiostro looks down on. In practice most guests treat it as a private extension of the room, and breakfast is more often taken out there than in the dining room.

The day bed sits in an alcove that was originally a second, smaller room; opening the wall between them in 2019 is the only structural change made to this wing of the palazzo.
