The Sassi

Il Belvedere takes up the corner of the top floor and steps out onto a private section of the roof terrace, the highest outdoor space in the building. From there, the whole of the Sasso Caveoso turns gold in the last of the light.

The room itself was combined from two smaller staff quarters during the 2019 restoration, which is why it runs an unusual L-shape: a sitting area with the sofa bed sits around the corner from the bedroom proper, giving genuine separation for a third guest.

An open door from a stone roof terrace of potted olives and lavender into a bedroom with a writing desk
A wooden chair and a folded blanket at the parapet of a roof terrace above the Sassi and the ravine
A single terracotta roof tile resting on a stone parapet, with an old iron hinge and the rooftops beyond
